Penobscot Bay is a testament to these elemental forces, where earth yields to water, and water resettles earth." 2017-01-17 Going for a Stroll, photographed by Eda D'Amico and featuring Gina and Bill Cressey's granddaughter, Becca Malloy, going for a summer stroll.2017-01-17 Going for a Stroll, photographed by Eda D'Amico and featuring Gina and Bill Cressey's granddaughter, Becca Malloy, going for a summer stroll. 2017-01-18 Double Bubble, photographed by Tim Samway at the waterslide during the July Fourth kids' games last summer.2017-01-18 Double Bubble, photographed by Tim Samway at the waterslide during the July Fourth kids' games last summer. 2017-01-19 Smoke on the Water, photographed by Ned Lightner.2017-01-19 Smoke on the Water, photographed by Ned Lightner. 2017-01-23 Winter Reflection, photographed Saturday from Auditorium Park by Art Hall. 2017-01-23 Winter Reflection, photographed Saturday from Auditorium Park by Art Hall. "Bayside's Community Hall is getting a face lift. Greg and Leah Gordon of Highland Window Works in Liberty have installed 10 restored windows in the Community Hall. The windows were removed in January and taken to the Gordon's workshop, where 100 years of dirt, grime and paint were removed. After removing the glass panes, each of the 20 sashes was sanded, repaired, primed, painted and then reglazed. After Leah prepared the wood surround with boiled linseed oil, Greg returned the sashes to their places. Six Bayside families so far have contributed to this project, contributing $800 each, the cost of one window repair. Donations to NVC to pay for the remaining windows are welcome and tax deductible (NVC, 813 Shore Road, Northport, ME 04849)." Next to me, middle row left, is one of my students, Amelie Crowe. When she saw that a picture of Bayview Park was my laptop background, we soon figured out that we are both Baysiders! "Elise had a school poetry project and, on her own, she wrote about 'our home' in Maine, but cast in clever terms as the 10-year-old (it was built in 2007). She has been coming to Bayside since she was born and was only three when our home was completed. She comes every summer and has taken sailing lessons for the last four years. She loves Bayside and I think her poem reflects that." On the subject of poetry, Bayside Arts is sponsoring "Alice Meador and Friends: An Evening of Poetry" on June 28 at the Community Hall (7 PM). Bayside poet Alice Meador and Belfast poet Elizabeth Garber will lead the audience in composing a poem as part of their program. Light and shadow
Dance a tango
A swirl of passion
In close embrace.

I strain to see
What distance
Can be discerned
Between lovers.

But alchemy
Long before
Has joined
What I divide.

A single heart
On the horizon
Rises to face
A billion suns.

All things dance
In recognition
In consummation
When dark meets light.
