Here I sit, broken-hearted,
Reading in the new NYC bathroom expansion, the labor soon to be departed.

Twas a project I picked, a labor of love.
Got plenty of comments, while I worked and it rained from above.

Well, it's nearly done, waiting on the flow of the water,
A fit place to visit for parents, their sons and daughter.

Thanks for your patience. I never said I was real fast.
I've enjoyed the work, though, and visits; you could say it's been a real gas.

My only regret is Gordon did not get his tall throne.
He has mentioned the issue more than once as surely he is prone.

But a special thanks to Steve Kaz, for the supply of cold beer
Was mighty tasty when I took a break and sat on my rear.

Here, Mr. Downs is telling me something funny. My brother, Jr., has that hot purple bathing suit, and Jim Kelly is needing some Twinkies. My family bought our cottage from Mr. Downs in 1967 or '68, by chance, on our way back to NJ from the World's Fair Expo in Canada. We stopped at the Colonial Gables Motor Inn in Belfast. Clyde Allen, a Navy man, saw the boats bobbing across the bay. He and Helen went to find these boats right into Bayside and bought the Downs' cottage on the spot--$3,700 fully furnished. They went back to Colonial Gables and said 'Come on kids; we're going to our new summer house.' The beginning." 2013-12-31 Farewell 2013, photographed by first-time contributor Steve Komp from an icy Kelly's Cove, with a tanker cruising past Turtle Head.
