  • 1915-05-13 Mr. Thomas E. Shea's play, "The Man' o' Warsman," made famous by him, will be shown in pictures at the Colonial Theatre Thursday, May 20th, one night and matinee at 2:30. Mr. Shea rewrote the play to fit the Mexican situation for motion pictures, played the leading part himself and directed the production, which was put on by the Broadway Moving Picture Company in New York. Centennial Opening Ceremony (5:30 PM; Bayside Library) We will kick off our Centennial Celebration commemorating our first 100 years of incorporation with a pot-luck get together and more! 5:30 PM Ceremony at the Bayside Library. Reading of the Centennial Proclamation ratified by Maine's State Senate. Raising of the centennial banner. Special remarks about our summer events. Followed by a potluck reception at 67 Clinton (BYOB or donation; cash bar). Rain or shine!

Northport Municipal Election (Northport Town Hall; 8 AM-8 PM) Positions to be voted on are: one Selectman/Overseer of the Poor for a three-year term; one School Committee Member for a three-year term; one Road Commissioner for a two-year term. Come Boating! Launch Day & Nautical Yard Sale (Boat Shed at the Belfast Public Landing; 9 AM-2 PM) Come Boating! kicks off its 15th season, with refreshments and information about its free community rowing program. Trained coxswains will be on hand from 11 AM to 2 PM to take visitors out for a row on a 32-foot Cornish pilot gig. Also, the organization's annual "All Things Nautical" Yard Sale, with great deals on many items, will take place between 9 AM and 2 PM. All proceeds of the sale will benefit Come Boating!, which offers free community rowing throughout the summer and early fall. For more information, visit
