Bayside has a rich history, and the Bayside Historical Preservation Society has, over the years, actively worked to preserve that history. To learn more, click the "Historical Society" tab above.

The Northport Yacht Club is the sponsor of not only sailboat races throughtout the summer and the Northport Yacht Club Sailing School but also of many of the social activities that help make Bayside such a wonderful community. To learn more, click the "Yacht Club" tab above.

If These Cottages Could Talk (Front)Purchase one of the few remaining copies of "If These Cottages Could Talk: a history of Bayside in Northport, Maine." The cost is $50 (which includes tax) plus $10 postage.  Make checks payable to BHPS (Bayside Historical Preservation Society) and mail to BHPS, c/o Beverly Crofoot, 800 Shore Road, Northport, ME 04849.  This book received the 2008 Maine Historic Preservation Commission award.  To quote Earle Shettleworth, “If These Cottages Could Talk provides a shining example of how residents can capture the meaning and memory of their community between the covers of a great book.”

The Bayside Historical Preservation Society is offering for sale five different postcards of Bayside scenes (see below). The cost is $0.50 per card plus $2.00 per order for shipping. In addition, there are reproductions of five historic cards (also $0.50 each) from Eastern Illustrating plus five reproduction stereo views ($1.00 each). Some of the available images follow. If you are interested in purchasing the cards, please send your check made payable to the Bayside Historical Preservation Society to BHPS, P.O. Box 304, Belfast, Maine 04915, along with a description of the quantity of each card desired. For more information, contact Beverly Crofoot.
