The following is partial listing of the waterfront regulations and safety information for the Northport Village Corporation.  Please note that there is no lifeguard on duty on the weekends.

Section 7. Intoxicating Liquors and Drugs.

      Public use of intoxicating liquors and drugs is prohibited by law in accordance with the statutes of the State of Maine.

 Section 10. Fishing.

1.      Fishing is allowed in the wharf and the south (boat) float but not between the hours of 12-5 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and holidays during July and August.

2.      Casting is subject to the approval of the lifeguard.

3.      Boats have the right-of-way.

4.      All fishing bait shall be kept in a container and confined to the fishing area.

 Section 11. Wharf.

  1. The Lifeguard has authority over all activities on the wharf, and these activities are subject to his control.
  2. The wharf is closed between 11 P.M. and 6 A.M. except to bonafide boat owners.
  3. Swimming is to be confined to the north float and the north half of the wharf.
  4. Boats may use the front of the wharf for repairs with the permission of the wharf master.
  5. Boats are to be confined to the south float.
  6. No water-skiing is allowed from the wharf. This includes the use of the floats as take-off and landing areas. 
  7. Bicycles, motorcycles, motor scooters, scooters, skateboards, roller blades, motor vehicles, and livestock are prohibited from the wharf and fire lane leading to the wharf. Wheelchairs and strollers are permitted on the wharf.
  8. Unattended dogs are prohibited on the wharf.
  9. No running, pushing, shoving or roughhousing is allowed on the wharf or floats.
  10. Profanity will not be tolerated anywhere on the waterfront area or the wharf.

  Each person using the waterfront area is responsible for removing his own refuse and trash.
